For students wishing to complete the 100hr Art of Yin this Autumn, Functional Yin Foundations - Lower Body, offers the possibility of completing the first 3 days in person with a group of fellow trainees.
The remaining 70hrs can then be completed over 7 days online
Part 2 - Upper Body: Oct 16-18 with Grace Tempany
Part 3 - From Function & Feeling to Trauma & Healing: Nov 14-15 and 21-22) with Grace Tempany.
“I’ve been training with Grace Tempany since 2020, and this work has profoundly changed how I experience my body.
It moved me away from thinking about what I was doing, and into actually feeling it. Learning how to listen, how to stay, and how to recognise what was happening in real time. Over time, that built a much deeper sense of connection, between my body and mind but also the connection between sensation and response.
This training is an opportunity to experience this work for yourself - not just what I’ve learned, but how it’s shaped the way I feel and understand my body.”
What to Expect
This is not just a training. It’s a slowing down into the body. A re-learning of how we listen, feel, and respond. To ourselves and to others.
❋ Functional Yoga - Moving Beyond ShapeThis approach is functional, not aesthetic. Rather than trying to achieve a “correct” pose, you’ll learn how to work with your body as it is including skeletal variation and individual differences.
It’s about understanding your body, and responding intelligently from there.
❋ FATE - Feeling At The EdgeFeeling At The Edge (FATE) is a core part of the Grace Tempany Method.
It’s not something that can be taught as a concept,
but it can be facilitated through how we practise.
It’s about finding a place in the body where there is clear sensation, attention, and the capacity to stay. Not pushing further, and not backing away.
This is where we begin to meet ourselves, allowing the experience to unfold over time.
This methodology is called Feeling At The Edge,
and what it reveals is often deeper than expected.
❋ Beyond Stretch - Fascia, Sensation & Nervous SystemThis is for you if you want to go deeper than just a “stretch”.
Rather than trying to “go deeper,” you’ll learn how to feel more clearly. We’ll explore a deeper relationship with fascia, sensation, the nervous system and the embodied experience of feeling.
And from that clarity, depth takes on a different meaning.
❋ Rebound - Stillness & the Practice of FeelingThis work is not about performing. It’s about creating time and space to feel.
Within this practice, Rebound is an essential part of it all. It’s where things begin to shift - not through doing, but through noticing.
It’s in these moments that interoception is enhanced, curiosity starts to emerge, and feeling itself becomes the practice.
From here, embodied language naturally emerges, not something to memorise, but something that comes through lived experience.
Because ultimately, you have to feel it, in order to know it.
